The union created a separate wage scale for mechanics that will place both incumbent members and new hires on a wage scale commensurate with the relevant experience as mechanics. The new wage scale is designed to end wage compression that was caused by hiring new mechanics at a higher salary than current mechanics.

Approximately 90 percent of the current mechanics will get a pay raise as they are moved to the new wage scale raising the unit’s overall wages by $500,000.

Any members who believe they are being paid less than newly hired employees, please contact the union.
