It is with great sadness and a broken heart that I report the death of one of our members at Ride-On to COVID-19.
Brother Michael Miller, an MC-DOT employee who worked out of the Silver Spring/Bethesda Depot, passed away last night from Covid-19. He had been out of work battling the virus since March 30, and his diagnosis was confirmed to the County on April 7.
Michael was known as a no-nonsense hard worker, who was always smiling and pleasant. He was a loyal union brother who always looked out for his coworkers.
Michael was a devoted husband and father. In addition to his family and career, Michael cherished his role as a Mason and was well respected and loved by his Mason brothers and sisters.
Our union family was lucky to have Michael as a brother. Although there was no time to say goodbye, a life such as his that touched so many others goes on forever.
I along with Secretary Treasurer Cuffie, Recorder Ransome the entire Executive Board, Staff and Shop Stewards extend our deepest sympathies and prayers to our brother’s wife Donna, their children, family and friends.
To all our sisters and brothers, please be safe and watch out for each other. We are in this fight together.
