Bill in State Legislature asks for Audit in Park and Planning

There’s exciting news for our Park & Planning members: Delegate Ben Kramer has introduced a bill that would establish an Inspector General to oversee and do an audit of the commission. All the games the Commission has played with money, any waste in the budget, would finally be exposed by an independent audit. If it passes, this bill will help us ensure that Park & Planning’s budget decisions are transparent and that they are held accountable. It will give us a better negotiating environment.
We’ll keep you posted on any new developments. We will be lobbying in Annapolis on this bill.
Contact members of the Bi-County Committee and let them know you want them to support this bill! The bill name is HB 321
The Union will be testifying in favor of this bill at the Montgomery County House delegation hearing tomorrow. We will keep you posted.
