MONTGOMERY COUNTY EMPLOYEE RECREATION PROGRAM

Montgomery County is promoting the health and well being of its qualifying employees by encouraging participation in activities that can reduce stress and/or enhance fitness by offering the Total Rec Pass… free!
The Total Rec Pass is valid for one year and allows access to all Montgomery County Recreation facilities including: Indoor and Outdoor Pools for lap and recreational swimming, and Community Centers for use of the Exercise Rooms, Game Rooms and Open Gym activities.
In addition, a 20% discount is offered to qualifying employees who purchase a Family All Pool Pass. This annual pass allows access to our four indoor pools all year long, and to our seven outdoor pools during the summer months for lap and recreational swimming.
Eligibility for Individual Total Rec Pass:

Current MC Government merit employees who are unrepresented;
Current MC Government members of MCGEO, IAFF, FOP.
LOSAP active members of MCVFRA.

Eligibility for 20% discount – Family All Pool Pass:

Current MC Government merit employees who are unrepresented;
Current MC Government members of MCGEO, IAFF, FOP.
LOSAP active members of MCVFRA.

Registration Policy:

The Montgomery County Employee Recreation Program Registration form must be completed and submitted to: ActiveMONTGOMERY, 4010 Randolph Road, Silver Spring, MD 20902 or FAX to 240-777-6818.
All applications will be processed, and a confirmation sent, within 7 business days of receipt (including walk-in submissions).
All passes are valid for one year. Each year applicants must reapply and complete the Employee Recreation Program Registration Form.
The Family All Pool Pass includes two parents and/or guardians and up to four single legal dependent children under 21 years of age residing at the same address. An additional fee of $20 per child is charged for five or more children.
A valid photo ID must be presented on your first visit to the pool or community center.
Non-County Residents must add $100.00 for the Family All Pool Pass.
Passes are not transferable. There are no refunds for the Family All Pool Pass.

M-NCPPC Member Ratify New CBA

Members of Local 1994 who are part of the Maryland-National Capitol Park and Planning Commission bargaining unit ratified their new Collective Bargaining agreement on May 1 (181 accept to 46 reject).
Bargaining team members: Aaron Crawford, JJ Harris, Stevel Harrell, Noel Bassett, Patrick Hanlon and MCGEO’s David Blackwell and Lead Negotiator Lisa Blackwell-Brown helped negotiate the agreement.
The agreement calls for a 3.5% pay increment, a 1.5% cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) and a .5% increase for top of grade employees.
The bargaining team was able to hold firm against Management’s desire to shift more of the insurance costs onto employees
The contract goes into effect on July 1 after the approval by the Prince George’s and Montgomery County Councils.

Local 1994 Endorses Marc Elrich for County Executive

Gaithersburg, MD –  Local 1994 Members and staff gathered after the union’s semi-annual stewards’ conference on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, to announce several endorsements of candidates for the Montgomery County Council.
Members endorsed County Councilmember Marc Elrich in his bid for Montgomery County Executive. The union also endorsed Montgomery County Council At-large Candidates Brandy Brooks, Chris Wilhelm, Will Jawando and District 1 Candidate Ana Sol-Gutiérrez.
Elrich presented his “First 90 Days Financial To-Do List,” which is a white paper that outlines Elrich’s long-term financial plan, including how he would begin a structural review of county departments in partnership with MCGEO and other county unions.
