The COVID-19 Memorandum of Understanding with the Housing Opportunities Commission expired recently and we have been in bargaining with them to extend the agreement. Management has told us that they want to end the COVID pay differentials while keeping the rest of the agreement in place.
We don’t agree. We are filing a grievance against HOC for emergency pay. We have also declared an impasse for bargaining and are asking for arbitration on the issue.
This pandemic is far from over and is, in fact, getting worse. HOC employees deserve to be compensated appropriately for the hazardous conditions they are encountering at work. The union will exhaust all avenues to ensure that you are adequately and fairly compensated.
