As a result of the declaration of emergency at the federal, state and local level in response to the containment of the spread of COVID-19 and the need to engage in social distancing, UFCW Local 1994 MCGEO, along with the IAFF and FOP, met with Montgomery County leaders all through the weekend to bargain on your behalf.
We are close to reaching an agreement on what constitutes “essential employees” and “essential services” in this public health crisis and how to best protect and provide for you, our members, and your families. Any agreement we reach with Montgomery County will become a blueprint for agreements with our other represented employers.
Please note, our primary concern is minimizing any impact on you and your family’s safety, health and financial stability during this unprecedented event. Remember to follow the CDC guidelines and best practices while we deal with this outbreak. Remember to be gentle with others as well. This is an incredibly stressful time, but we’re all in this together and we can get through this together.
