We are thrilled to announce that Alcohol Beverage Services (ABS) and UFCW Local 1994 MCGEO, in conjunction County Executive Marc Elrich, are supporting the Labor Against Cancer initiative, benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). During September and October, we are supporting LLS through a comprehensive retail campaign and will take part in the annual Light the Night Walk. We’re excited about this partnership and supporting LLS is a great way for us all to give back to our local community.
ABS and UFCW Local 1994 MCGEO have set a goal to raise $25,000, with monies raised benefiting LLS research and patient support services. Contributing to nearly every advancement in blood cancer treatment in recent decades, LLS has invested more than $1.2 billion in cancer research, with groundbreaking results. Since 2016, 41 new blood cancer treatments have been approved by the FDA, and LLS directly funded 36 of these. These revolutionary new treatments are going beyond just blood cancers and are powering efforts to attack cancer from every angle.
In order to hit our team goal by October, we are officially kicking off fundraising efforts today! Here are a few ways you can show your support:
