This training provides an overview of the Montgomery County Self Insurance Workers’ Compensation Program. Join the Department of Finance, Risk Management Team to discuss policies, procedures, and eligibility related to workers’ compensation. Come gain valuable information that can assist you in addressing questions you may have when an employee is injured at work. This program is targeted for Municipal and County Government Employees Organization (MCGEO), UFCW Local 1994 Shop Stewards, managers, and supervisors.

• Roles and responsibilities of the supervisor and injured worker during the workers’ compensation process
• Identifying when an injury should be reported
• Filing a workers’ compensation claim
• Understanding the role of our claims service, CorVel Corporation
• The importance of communication between management and the injured worker
• Managers’ and workers’ roles in the return to work process
