The AFL-CIO’s Civil, Human and Women’s Rights Department will host the 2019 Martin Luther King Jr. Civil and Human Rights Conference, January 18–21, at the Washington Hilton Hotel, 1919 Connecticut Avenue, Washington, DC 20009. This Conference will unite hundreds of union activists and partners to celebrate Dr. King’s life and his legacy of working to improve our lives.  Invited guests are Mayor of Tallahassee, Florida Andrew Gillum, Stacy Abrams of Atlanta, Georgia, Florida Restorative Voting Rights Advocate Desmond Meade, and many others.

Participants will join the National Women’s March on Saturday, January 19, on the grounds of the U.S. Capitol.  The AFL-CIO will provide bus transportation for Conference participants to participate in the Women’s March. If there were ever a time to mobilize, train and deploy the united force of the labor community—this is it!
